What is Channel 4?
Channel 4 is a free UK streaming service, licensed for viewers in the United Kingdom. Viewers in Netherlands cannot open it directly, because the service checks the IP address and blocks connections from outside the UK. BritVPN presents a UK address so the app treats you as a UK viewer.
Why Channel 4 is blocked in the Netherlands
Channel 4 holds streaming rights for the UK and the Republic of Ireland, plus Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. The Netherlands is outside that area, so channel4.com and the app stop at a "not available in your area" notice. Its live channels are tighter again, reserved for UK residents.
