What is ITVX?
ITVX is a free UK streaming service, licensed for viewers in the United Kingdom. Viewers in Netherlands cannot open it directly, because the service checks the IP address and blocks connections from outside the UK. BritVPN presents a UK address so the app treats you as a UK viewer.
Why ITVX is blocked in the Netherlands
ITVX's terms restrict it to the UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and ITV uses geo-blocking to enforce that. A KPN, Ziggo or Odido connection is placed in the Netherlands, so the stream is refused before the first advert plays, on the website and in the app.
