What is Channel 4?
Channel 4 is a free UK streaming service, licensed for viewers in the United Kingdom. Viewers in Germany cannot open it directly, because the service checks the IP address and blocks connections from outside the UK. BritVPN presents a UK address so the app treats you as a UK viewer.
Why Channel 4 is blocked in Germany
Channel 4's FAQs list where its streaming works, the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and Germany isn't on that list. Open the app here and you get a message that the content isn't available in your area. Watch Live, the stream of Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4, is narrower still and limited to UK residents.
Does Channel 4 work in Deutschland?
