What is Channel 4?
Channel 4 is a free UK streaming service, licensed for viewers in the United Kingdom. Viewers in France cannot open it directly, because the service checks the IP address and blocks connections from outside the UK. BritVPN presents a UK address so the app treats you as a UK viewer.
Why Channel 4 is blocked in France
Channel 4 lists the places it streams to as the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. France isn't among them, so French broadband and French mobile networks get the out-of-area message for catch-up and live channels alike, whatever passport you hold.
