How Do You Watch Love Island UK in Spain?

What is ITVX?
ITVX is a free UK streaming service, licensed for viewers in the United Kingdom. Viewers in Spain cannot open it directly, because the service checks the IP address and blocks connections from outside the UK. BritVPN presents a UK address so the app treats you as a UK viewer.
Why ITVX is blocked in Spain
ITV's help pages say you can't stream live or on-demand shows on ITVX from outside the UK, and Spain, Mallorca included, is outside. The app looks up your IP address, so Spanish fibre, hotel Wi-Fi and Spanish mobile data all get stopped before the opening titles. Paying for ITVX Premium doesn't change that, because ITV limits Premium to the UK as well.
Filmed in Mallorca, blocked in Mallorca
Love Island UK is made in Spain. The summer series is filmed at a villa near Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, on Mallorca's east coast, and the 2026 series went back to the same house.
Living down the road from the villa doesn't help. ITV2 and ITVX show the programme to UK audiences only, so a fan in Palma has exactly the same problem as one in Madrid, Valencia or Málaga.

What time is Love Island on in Spain?
While a series is running, ITV2 and ITVX broadcast a new episode at 9pm UK time every night except Saturday. Mainland Spain and the Balearics sit one hour ahead of the UK, so the episode starts at 10pm in Madrid or Palma.
The Canary Islands keep UK time, which means 9pm in Tenerife or Gran Canaria, the same moment as London. Spain and the UK move their clocks on the same weekends, so neither gap shifts during the summer.
Prefer not to stay up? Each episode lands on ITVX for catch-up shortly after it airs.

Streaming Love Island from Spain, step by step
- Turn on BritVPN. Only ITVX goes through a UK address; your Spanish connection carries everything else as normal.
- Register a free ITVX account. It asks for a UK postcode, so give one you're entitled to use, such as a relative's home address.
- Pick a screen. ITVX runs on phones and tablets, Android TV, Fire TV, and in Chrome or Edge on a laptop.
- Open the live ITV2 stream for the nightly episode, or find Love Island in the ITVX library to catch up on anything you missed.
ITVX in Spain beyond the villa
People in Spain also look up ITVX and ITV more generally, for the soaps, the Saturday entertainment shows and the drama box sets. The same UK connection opens ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 live, plus the whole on-demand catalogue, so the end of a Love Island series isn't the end of the subscription's usefulness.
