Who stars in Everything I Know About Love?
The adaptation stars Emma Appleton (Princess Renfry in The Witcher) and Bel Powley (Kelsey in The King of Staten Island) as Maggie and Birdy respectively.
Based on the real Dolly and her best friend Farley, the series explores the complexities and importance of female friendship, while triggering our nostalgia with its portrayal of 2012 London, and what it’s like growing up in the suburbs in the early noughties.
Described in the official synopsis as “A generous, funny, warm-hearted and uplifting Sex & The City for Millennials”, the series doesn’t shy away from the personal disasters, humilations and painful realisations that accompany us throughout our twenties.
The Plot of Everything I Know About Love
The show focuses largely on Dolly’s character's experience of her early twenties, where she lives with her flatmates in a dilapidated but treasured London flat-share.
The story follows Maggie and Birdy through the stresses of carving out a career in the media, to the strain of a new romantic relationship which threatens—and then redefines—their friendship.
Like the book, the series addresses topics of binge-drinking, self-sabotage, identity, and our ability, or lack thereof, to control our own narrative. All done with a lightness of touch and just the right amount of dark humour.

The official date has just been announced. Everything I Know About Love is coming to iPlayer and BBC One on 7 June 2022.
Filming for Everything I Know About Love has concluded in Manchester and London, and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2022.
