Sweden v Tunisia (Kick-off 3.00am). Semra Hunter presents coverage of the Group F match at Monterrey Stadium in Mexico. Sweden have a fairly disappointing record of qualifying for the World Cup in recent times, only appearing three times since they finished third at USA '94, and they had to rely on the UEFA play-offs to secure their spot this time around. For Tunisia this is their third consecutive appearance at a World Cup finals and their seventh overall, and they'll hope to take advantage of the new expanded format and qualify for the knockout stage for the first time. They came up short in Qatar four years ago despite claiming a credible 0-0 draw with Denmark and memorable 1-0 victory over France, with a 1-0 loss to Australia ultimately seeing the Socceroos finish above them in Group D as they progressed to the last 16 alongside eventual runners-up, Les Bleus. With analysis from Karen Carney and Jobi McAnuff, and commentary by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward

Spain v Cape Verde (Kick-off 5.00pm). Mark Pougatch presents coverage of the opening match in Group H, held at Atlanta Stadium in the USA. Spain won this tournament in 2010 and are among the favourites to do so once again, having won Euro 2024 and qualified from a group containing Tรผrkiye, Georgia and Bulgaria with five wins, a draw and no defeats. They were also runners-up to Portugal in last year's UEFA Nations League, and their squad boasts the talents of the likes of Barcelona stars Pedri and Lamine Yamal, who is an injury doubt for the group stage, and Manchester City's 2024 Ballon d'or winner Rodri. Cape Verde are one of the tournament outsiders and it would be a major upset should they manage to get a result this evening, but they impressed in qualifying, topping a group that contained the likes of Cameroon, Libya and Angola. They have few players among their ranks who would be widely considered as household names, but are likely to look to captain and all-time leading goalscorer Ryan Mendes for inspiration. With analysis from Juan Mata, Emma Hayes and Ange Postecoglou, and commentary by Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon

FIFA WC2026: S. Arabia v Uruguay — 22:15
Saudi Arabia v Uruguay (Kick-off 11.00pm). Laura Woods presents all the action from both teams' first match in Group H, held at Miami Stadium in the USA. The Saudis caused an upset against South American opposition in their opener four years ago in Qatar when they prevailed 2-1 against eventual champions Argentina, but defeats at the hands of Poland and Mexico ensured that 1994 remained the only time they had progressed beyond the group stage, when the tournament was also held in the USA. Uruguay lifted the trophy in 1930 and 1950, but their run of three consecutive appearances in the knockout stage came to an end in 2022, when they failed to make it out of a group containing Portugal, South Korea and Ghana. The sides also met in the group stage of the 2018 tournament, when a goal by Luis Suarez gave the Uruguayans a 1-0 win. With analysis from Duncan Ferguson, Karen Carney and Jobi McAnuff, and commentary by Joe Speight and Lucy Ward
