Cawood's life is highly unusual. She's a single grandmother, whose divorce was caused by her decision to bring up her dead daughter's child. Although there are plenty of light-hearted moments throughout the first two seasons, there were also many tough, upsetting, and provocative moments that kept audiences hooked.
