Trailer of The Capture Series 2
With the launch of the premiere trailer, we gain insight as to what happens in The Capture in season 2. The trailer begins with the mysterious murder of a Chinese national, assassinated in his own apartment by a seemingly invisible force.
What is The Capture All About?
Written and directed by Ben Channon, the first season of The Capture follows British soldier Shaun Emery (Callum Turner), who has been charged with kidnap and murder of his barrister — a crime he vows he didn’t commit, despite the act being caught on CCTV. Detective Inspector Rachel Carey takes on the unusual case and begins to unravel a conspiracy that calls us to question whether seeing really is believing.
In Season 2, DI Carey finds herself in the thick of a new conspiracy, this time centred around promising young MP Isaac Turner, played by Paapa Essiedu of I May Destroy You fame. Turner’s career is on the rise until he finds his identity is no longer his own. It’s just the beginning of an investigation which uncovers layer after layer of government corruption, turning insiders against each other and scrambling to connect the dots.
The Cast of The Capture
Holliday Grainger (The Borgias, Great Expectations) returns as DI Rachel Carey alongside Paapa Essiedu, who plays MP Isaac Turner. The supporting cast includes Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Drive) as CIA Chief Frank Napier, as well as The Crown alumni Ben Miles, who plays Commander Danny Hart, and Lia Williams, who plays DSU Gemma Garland.
There are also some new additions to the show, namely Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Andy Nyman (Hanna), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Rob Yang (Succession). Catch the talented cast as soon as the series launches on iPlayer.
Final Words
The drama explores themes of media manipulation and deep fake technology, stretching our understanding of what’s possible and showing us a dystopian future that might not be as far away as we would like to imagine.
