A welcomed return for 2020
We are so excited for the Strictly Come Dancing series 18 to start up–this year definitely needs a bit of strictly glitter and magic! Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be launching Strictly Come Dancing for 2020 and will be joined in the ballroom by judges Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas but can you watch it from outside the UK?
How are they pulling this off?
People are naturally curious as to how the BBC is managing to make this show a reality considering all the health challenges and restrictions in place. We’ve heard of sports leagues creating a “bubble” to ensure that sporting events can continue. These bubbles are closed off to the general public and are in place to protect the elite sportsmen. The NBA, for example, has their isolation zone in Walt Disney World in Florida, with the bubble rumoured to have cost $170 million dollars to set up and operate.
With a far, far smaller budget, the BBC has taken a similar approach to the NBA, creating their own bubble in the outskirts of London. All the dancers and celebrities are in a special isolation zone in order to comply with strict health guidelines. It is understood that they are getting tested regularly to ensure everyone involved will remain safe.
This year’s pairings have been revealed with the BBC continuing to curate a unique mix of people from diverse backgrounds. Politicians, comedians and sports stars will make up the brand new celebrities for what promises to be an unforgettable season of dance. Due to the series being shorter, only 12 couples will be competing this season.

We honestly didn't think it would have been possible but it has been confirmed that Strictly Come Dancing will host a live studio audience. Tickets are available for those keen to see the couples battle it out with seating of family groups of four people from the same household available. It sounds like a fun evening with bubbles of guests at cabaret tables and in balcony seating.
