Spring has finally sprung! BST has started, and many impatient growers are preparing allotments, back gardens, patio spaces and windowsills for this year’s season. One of the best companions for such endeavours is undoubtedly the BBC’s Gardeners’ World, a source of inspiration and guidance for avid horticulturalists since the 1960s.

Legendary presenter, Monty Don is back in his ‘Longmeadow’ garden and with an increasing number of people turning to the art of growing as a therapeutic reprieve, we’re sure this season will be more popular and needed than ever!

Where and How to Watch Gardeners’ World

Wherever you’re growing, BBC iPlayer has two options for you when it comes to Gardeners’ World. You can catch-up and follow along with Monty’s weekly 2021 adventures and advice as each episode airs, or you can binge the entirety of the 2020 season, also available on iPlayer. Better yet, you could do both from anywhere in the world and here’s how:

1. Download Chrome Browser, if you're not already using it.

2. Install Beebs, this nifty tool redirects all your BBC requests.

3. The BBC iPlayer will reload. You can start watching full episodes of Gardeners’ World.

Take a look at Monty's tomatoes!

During the UK’s 2020 spring lockdown, viewership of Gardeners’ World skyrocketed to the show’s highest ratings in a decade and many fans were deeply disappointed with the cancellation of its winter specials. Thankfully the show is back, with Monty filming weekly at Longmeadow and co-presenters Sue Kent, Carol Klein and Joe Swift touring growing spaces up and down the country, there is a lot we can expect from this highly anticipated season.

Something that has proven popular with both showrunners and audiences, are the #viewersvideos sent in by growers from across the UK. These short, self-filmed clips started as a necessity due to travel restrictions and social distancing measures in the 2020 season, but have captured audience imagination and engagement, adding a nice home-made feel to the programme. We look forward to seeing what people have continued to get up to in the age of pandemic-growing!

A British stable

The 2021 season has just started, so there is plenty of time to catch up with Monty and the team via. iPlayer and plenty of time to get going on some growing of your own! Even if you’re catching up from outside the UK, the insights and tips broadcast in Gardeners' World are likely to be invaluable wherever you are, and the show’s enthusiasm alone is a well of motivation. Whether you’re growing in the real world or growing the world of your imagination, you now know how to access all the information and inspiration you need from Gardeners World by catching it on BBC iPlayer.
