A Very English Scandal is a British television comedy-drama anthology series worth binging. This guide shows how you can do just that.

In the 1960s, homosexuality has only just been decriminalised, and Jeremy Thorpe, the leader of the Liberal party, has a secret he is desperate to hide. A Very English Scandal is the dramatisation of the 1976–1979 Jeremy Thorpe scandal and the 15 years of events leading up to it.

First airing on BBC One in 2018, the three-part serial was based on John Preston's 2016 book of the same name. Written by Russell T Davies (creator of It's A Sin and Torchwood) with Hugh Grant starring as Thorpe and Ben Whishaw as Scott.

While confronting in many ways, A Very English Scandal acts as an absorbing look at British politics and society in the sixties. All three episodes of the series are still online on BBC iPlayer to be streamed for those wishing to watch.
